Over the years, it has established itself as one of the most respected and competitive disc golf events in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">History<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nokia Open has been organized in its current format since 2019, with the 2025 edition being promoted as the seventh consecutive tournament.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The event has been part of the <strong>European Pro Tour (EPT)<\/strong> and has also previously featured on the European disc golf Euro Tour.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The tournament is played on the famous <strong>Beast<\/strong> course, the same venue that hosts the prestigious <strong>European Open<\/strong>, one of the most important and highly regarded disc golf tournaments in the world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nokia Open in the European Context<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While Nokia Open is not the largest European tournament by participant numbers, it is widely regarded as one of the continent\u2019s premier competitive events. Its reputation is built on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A world-class championship course (The Beast)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong international participation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its role within the European Pro Tour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its close connection to the European Open, which regularly attracts the world&#8217;s top professional players to the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Among Europe\u2019s Leading Disc Golf Tournaments<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the most prominent disc golf tournaments in Europe include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>European Open (Nokia &amp; Tampere, Finland)<\/strong> \u2013 Europe\u2019s most prestigious disc golf event and one of the world\u2019s premier PDGA Major tournaments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Konopi\u0161t\u011b Open (Czech Republic)<\/strong> \u2013 A long-standing international elite-level tournament.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nokia Open (Finland)<\/strong> \u2013 One of the key events on the European Pro Tour and among the most important competitions played on The Beast course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>European Amateur Open (Nokia, Tampere &amp; Yl\u00f6j\u00e4rvi, Finland)<\/strong> \u2013 Finland\u2019s largest amateur disc golf event.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nokia\u2019s Importance to Disc Golf<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nokia is often informally referred to as one of the capitals of European disc golf due to its hosting of both the <strong>European Open<\/strong> and <strong>Nokia Open<\/strong>. The city\u2019s Beast course enjoys worldwide recognition, and major events held there attract thousands of spectators as well as significant international media attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An interesting historical note is that the <strong>2023 EPT Nokia Open<\/strong> was directed by <strong>Kai Vesa<\/strong>, who served as Tournament Director<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the last year we are making some changes to the course and playing order. We are starting the tournament from the original hole 1 and we are not playing the normal starting hole at all. This mean that we need to have one new hole for the tournament. Starting from permanent hole 1 means also that the beast 18 will grown the champion this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now the <a href=\"https:\/\/discgolfmetrix.com\/3532967\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/discgolfmetrix.com\/3532967\">REGISTRATION<\/a> is open for <strong>Nokia Open 2026<\/strong> at Metrix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are also hosting <a href=\"https:\/\/discgolfmetrix.com\/3532968\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/discgolfmetrix.com\/3532968\">Nokia Amateur Open<\/a> week before the tournament. 21.-23.8.2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are not ready to compete with the Pro players you can come to spectate or play on some of the other tournaments. There will be lot&#8217;s of one rounds also during the weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tournament Info<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Event date: 28.-30.8.2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Location: Nokia DiscGolfPark, Hinttalankatu 6, 37100 Nokia, Finland.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>160 players.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Divisions: MPO and FPO.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All players play three&nbsp;18-hole rounds \u2013 one round per day with golf starts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most important player info will be send to all players by email before the tournament<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>News and info at tournament week on Metrix News.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tournament center is at Nokia Ice Hockey hall.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAST DANCE OF THE BEAST!
